#15 - 5th Visit to Boy's home.

No matter what happened, Mummy will not give you up

Dear Diary,

Yesterday was my 5th visit to Boy's home, I really feels that my relationships between me and my boy A had improved a lot! From a boy that keep everything to himself to share everything with me when asked. According to my previous entries, I'm very upset and depressed that my Boy doesn't seems to trust me by sharing with me, BUT now everything changed. I'm really very happy to see the changes! ^^V

Because of my Boy, I knew a guy from online named J. He's from BH in 2002 for 2 years, then proceed to RTC for 3 years + tagging. (Reformative Training Centre) - A prison for people who are above 18 and below 21. THEN proceed to changi prison for 3 years.

Reached BH at about 715pm hence started early~ Yesterday was a very heart to heart talk with A. Told him J's story and hope he will take this story into consideration by not contacting the friends that landed him here. God will really bless him.

# 15 - Paw Pet-radize Dog Cafe.

Dear Diary,

I'm so dead because I'm very busy for my volunteering work, japanese class, taiko class and blah blah blah. I realized that I've been neglecting my girl aka Lilo Girl. So my weekdays have volunteers work and some rest days while sunday have Japanese class then followed by Taiko class. Due to Haze, last min my taiko class was cancelled. Hence decided to bring my girl to the new dog cafe located at Balestier - Paw Pet-radize that is newly opened by my friend. :)

The place it's clean and cozy even thou the space it's quite small compared to doggie style cafe. However, I preferred this cafe than doggiestyle because doggiestyle cafe are too far, dirty, very commercialized, unfriendly staff, expensive and not-nice food. Oh, my girl love the food there only cost about $4.90 for the pork meatballs. Made a couple of friend friend there and KO-ed when she reached home.

#14 - 4th Visit to Boy's home.

Dear Diary,

Now I'm writing about my 4th experience visiting the boy's home. :)

I'm so called got used to the procedures there, reached boy's home > exchange NRIC at guard house > visit my boy > guard house exchange back NRIC > Home sweet home.

Well, this mentoring session is sort of different, my boy A wasn't there because he's going for his camp. Since I'm free, I replaced one of the mentors to mentor their mentees. Location wise is "Block E". The security there was very tight compared to "Block F". I need to signal for the officer to open the first gate, i went in and they need close the first gate before opening second gate. While waiting for the officers to confirm, I'm standing there looking around. I heard many of the boys shouting~ After I realized I'm facing their bathroom. -.-'''

Anyways, played games with them and I'm really enjoyed myself and I believed the boys too! There's 3 of the mentors + 3 mentee at that time, well it's really a big group yea? ^^

There's something I don't understand, I did not see the boy's before and they know I'm mentor of my boy A, all of them misses my boy so much and asked me send regards to him. AWWWW.

My boy is going to be discharge on 13th July 2013, I'm really very happy for him. :)

#13 - Day 12 of Braces.

Dear Diary,

Today marks 12th day of my braces journey, picture above show the different between 14 June 2013 and 25 June 2013. There wasn't a much differences as it's only 12th day of my braces. Well, let's be just a bit more patience. :)

I can eat ALMOST anything now, but I still try to consider the colour and texture of the food and the location I am in. Example: Outside, I won't eat beancurd, veggie and things that is easily stuck in my braces. Plus, it's so embarrassed to hold a tooth brush and brush in a public toilet. Find it really disgusting when the smell of the toilet stink and I need to use the water there. Home, I can basically eat everything then I can take my time to brush my teeth. Didn't eat curry yet but gonna try a day before my dental visit. :)

#12 - 3rd Visit to Boy's home.

Dear Diary,

Today I went to boy's home again to visit my Boy Q, I started the session at 730pm to 830pm. That's means I finally have an hour of conversation with my boy. We made a huge improvement of relationship! *CLAPS* I remembered during my previous visit, I'm discouraged that he told me that he will vanished when he release on July'2013 and he did not tell me about his background. Of course, I've my way to find out his background without him telling me. But, I really hope that he trust me and tell me personally which thank god for his help, he told me all today. And last visit, he told me loads of lies which I'm aware of, but I refused to burst his bubble, hope he will be honest with me next time. 感恩。

Me: 只要你说的，我就会相信你。

Him: 我很感动。

Finally we exchanged numbers, hope our relationships will be better for at least a year.

#11 - Uncoming Volunteering! PHF

Dear Diary,

Tonight I'm going to Boy's home and visit my boy, looking very excited now. Wonder if he feels the same way too. Again, Mentor J informed that she can't make it for tonight session with boy B. Great, first appointment was very late, second appointment said she's in HUGE jam and this appointment says she can't make it. It's really my luck to mentors with two boys B & Q. Too bad, some people are just irresponsible. I can't really have some private talking with my boy. :(

Alright, Project Happy Feet Slipper Race 2013 is here again! And, I've already signed up together with my friends - Amy & Huiyin. It'll be damn fun volunteering together on the 31 August 2013 at East Coast Park. Looking damn forward! ^^

#10 - (Braces Journey 3: Upper Metal Teeth)

Dear Diary,

As many of you reader had guessed that "Metal Teeth" equals to braces, YES you're right! I've my braces up last friday - 14th June 2013. I'm here to blog about what's my experience about that. Well, for me the whole process it's actually painless and fast. The soreness came after a few hours of fixing till now. My name is called > washing & polishing > glue (a very sourish feel) > Metal pieces up > coloured bands > DONE! I've done research about it, many people said that it cost them about 45mins to 1 hour. But to me, cost less than 20mins max?

I didn't know that I actually had "Over Bite Problem" hence I will do upper braces first than a few months later will do lower braces. Estimated 2 months later provided that my teeth cooperate. First braces appointment I decided to do Red coloured bands, there wasn't much colour to choose from because according to my dentist, more colours will be available from second month onwards. Looking forward for PINK coloured bands. Yipee Ya Ya!

Today was actually day 5 of my braces, it's still very sore and couldn't really bite food. Hence, soft food is my menu now. Kind of slimming down motivation yea? I lost 1kg+ now. JIAYOU!!

The reason why my teeth was so yellowish and unhealthy looking, NOT because I didn't brush my teeth properly etc. I was seriously lack of calcium for my tooth, hence my teeth were seriously brittle than those white parts were filled up from dentist. Therefore, please understand yea? :)

#9 - 2nd Visit to Boy's home.

Dear Diary,

On tuesday 11th June 2013, we supposed to have all the mentors gathered together to have a nice wonderful dinner treat from our organizations at vivo city. We cabbed and reached there, however last min cancelled because too many people dropped out for that day's dinner. Very very disappointing, but it's alright. :)

Yesterday went to visit my boy again for the second time, due to my mentor partner couldn't make it, I actually mentor 2 boys yesterday. *CLAPS*. Mentor J said that she's trying her best to drive down, however due to massive jam yesterday at expressways, she was very late and couldn't make it for this mentorships, as the boys need to go back to their rooms at 830am sharp. See the poor boy B disappointed face and comments, "It's okay, I can understand that no much people like you will be that kind hearted, came even thou you've a bad tooth ache." He's pretty sweet and understanding to us, but feels really heartache for him. Gosh.

My boy Q, it's a hard nut to crack. Why? He keep lying to me and not telling me the truth. That's disheartening, but I believed that as long as I've persistence, he'll be softed by me and start trusting me by telling me the truth. He lied to me about his english name, school that he's studying now and his release date. I've my ways to find out the truth, but I'm trying my best to understand what's the purpose of lying? Till date, I've not found out the background of him, because he refused to say. It's fine, I believe he will open his heart and pour his heart to me soon in the future. But, he said that he will not meet me after his release. I will really try my best to work hard with the either boy Q or B. May god bless them! :)

I'm pretty disappointed in some of the Mentors. They do not have any sort of time management. We said that to reach the homes by 730pm and we will have one hour session with the boys because they needed to go back to their bunk at 830pm sharp. However, they always late since day 1 and had wasted precious time with the boys whom we can only meet once a week or once every two weeks. Due to work issue? Than you shouldn't had take out this volunteer work if you can't commit due to the time issue. Due to jams? Than take public transport like MRT etc, if I can make it, why you can't? Yes, there might be emergency that you totally cannot join because it needed to be booked at least one week in advance. But please really make an effort to come because you didn't see the disappointed face in the boys when they heard you can't join. :(

#8 - (Braces Journey 2: Extraction)

Dear Diary,

In additional to my previous blog's post, Dentist Ng from "Boon Lay Dental Surgery" it's great. He jabbed me and filled up my open wound with medication and temporary filling. He said that during 10 days your #27 tooth didn't pain, come back and he will need to give me a permanent filling. If still hurts, no choice but to do removal of root canal. So far so good, it had been 4 days, still no pain, let's pray for the best. :)

About my tooth extraction, I went to "The Oral Maxillofacial Practice" at Mount Elizabeth Novena, Dr Wee for extraction of 2 tooth. I was referred by my braces orthondontist, hence, it caused me $60/tooth and some GST, overall I paid $150 for my extraction of 2 tooth. Dr Wee skills were very good! Name was called, went in, sit down, ask some question, some warning from him, jab, shake shake shake, one tooth out, shake shake shake, another tooth out, apply some medicatiion to aid the healing, dressing and DONE. Whole process wasn't painful at all, just pressure. :)

Mum was feeling very 心痛 for me, she praised me for being very brave~ Mum, step 2 - extraction it's over now. :)

Alright, I admit I freaked out a couple of days before the exact extraction, but everything it's fine now~ Looking forward for braces this coming friday!~ It's gonna be different type of pain for about 2 years. :(

#7 - My Weekends.

Dear Diary,

What's did I do last weekend? Friday I went for extraction 2 tooth (Please refer to my next post.), Saturday I stayed at home to recover from my bleeding, and I got to spend the day accompany my girl aka Lilo. Really love enjoying simple day with her. :) Sunday I met Bee for movie - Hang Over Part 3, nice movie thou. Didn't catch part 1 or 2, hence couldn't really comments on part 3. Went to Pastaminia for lunchie than West coast Mcdonald for some desserts than my Taiko's class at Japanese Primary School Clementi Campus. After that went to Thiong Bahru Food Market for dinner than home sweet home.

I knew Bee and I have a big issue since the begaining of relationships. He don't like animals at all especially dogs while I can't live without dogs. Lilo it's the big issue to the both of us. I'm tired of trying my best to let him accept Lilo. Well, let fate decide. :)

#6 - Dentist Tonight Again.

Dear Diary,

Yesterday night, My Dental Clinic was close, hence, tonight I'm going over again.

I'm gonna trust 2nd dentist from the dental clinic "Boon Lay Dental Surgery". This time round, I'm going to consult Dr Ng and hope he can jab to numb the area of my tooth, than do whatever he gonna do for my decay tooth instead of removal of tooth canal that will drag for months~. If everything went smoothly, hope I can still go for tooth extraction tomorrow than next friday I will start my braces journey. :(

I got a bad feeling that I'm gonna do removal of canal for that tooth, hope it's not going to be true.

The last place I'm going to in my life it's going to the dentist.

#5 - A Traumatized Trip To The Dentist.

Dear Diary,

Those who actually saw my previous post, I've actually planned that this week I need to do filling and polishing of my tooth than extraction of tooth (7June) before proceeding to have braces on (14June). As an aries, I love to plan my schedule ahead to get myself prepared. However, things wasn't going to happen the way I wanted them to be. 人算不如天算. Yesterday I went to "Boon Lay Dental Surgery", my dentist it's Mdm Gay. She proceed with polish my teeth (SGD$80) than commented that she needed to fill 3 of my decayed tooth (SGD$55/tooth). I agreed and she proceed with 2 decayed tooth successfully. However during the 3rd tooth, it hurts so bad till I cried and started to shiver. As an 22 years old matured adult, I really behaved like a childish kid, moving and trying to grab on the dentist's hand. Really disappointed in myself. 

Everything seems to be planned carefully till the Dentist told me, the tooth decayed too much and there's only 2 options. 1, Extract it. 2. Removal of tooth canal. Unfortunately, my Braces orthodontist rejected to extract the decay tooth because it's important. Now my choice it's, I've decided to seek for 2nd dentist opinion by this week than see if they can numb the area by jab and fill everything up because now the decay tooth it's sort of "open" wound, very sensitive now. I didn't experience any pain before I go dentist yesterday, I actually left the place with pain till now. WTF leh. :(

#4 - My Weekends.

Dear Diary,

Friday: Went out with Bee for dinner at the Sushi Express at somerset 313 > Shopped around > Fast and Furious 6 > Home sweet home. Dinner wise, I still prefer Sushi Express citylink's outlet instead of the somerset's because sashimi were fresher at that place. Fast and Furious 6 it's a very nice movie, will rate it 9/10. :)

Saturday: Had Mcdonald for breakfast than volunteer with the unprivillaged kids from broken homes at West Coast Park. Played some games from them and I really enjoyed it. Yes, it's very tired but I'm happy because it's a very meaningful things to be done! Rushed back and prepare to Malaysia for Uncle's birthday celebration. Food are expensive and nice. Gosh, I missed the food now. Went to KSL for Kbox and reached home at 330am. OMGsh.

Sunday: Woke up at 7am, prepare to go to school for my JCS term 1 test. Not satisfied with my results. I will try harder next time!~ Took MRT to find Bee at Jurong Point for Ajisen for lunchie than desserts at "记得吃" than proceed to Japan Drum lesson aka Taiko. Bee fetched me from school after that than we have dinner together than HSH!~ Really really appreciated that Bee had spent the effort to fetch me from Japanese Class, Lunchie than send me to Taiko class than fetched me again after class for dinner than send me home. So sweet of him isn't it? :D

#3 - A sad story to start with.

Dear Diary,

Last wednesday when I went to Boy's home for mentoring, I heard a very sad story from other mentors. M was a 18 years old boy now, the reason being why he ended up in Boys' Home because he stole money from his own dad and his own dad actually called the police personally and ended up there. He hated his dad so much and feels betrayed by his own father. Well, he changed over to a new leaf and as he grews up, he appreciated what his dad did and now he's a score very well in N levels and will be discharged in 2 more months. Again, I'm so happy for him, wishing him all the best in the future.

Just one mentoring there, made me feels that I'm so fortunate to have what I have now. Even thou` I don't have a dad since the age of 4, BUT I've a caring mum, a wonderful Dog, families and friends with me. "Freedom" is priceless what I've which they do not have now.

ENOUGH OF THE EMOTIONAL POST. . . .

Alright, suppose to meet Bee yesterday, but ended up he's unwell and had MC so he gotta stay at home and rest. Decided to meet my cousin XY for dinner at Bangkok Jam and some shopping at orchard. Love simple day like this~ Got to save more $$ for my expensive braces.

Meeting Bee tonight for movie - Fast and Furious 6 at Cineleisure at 8pm+, it had been 5 days since we last met. Lesser time spend, lesser conflicts and quarrels. Perhaps a good thing? :/

Last but not least, ? days to filling and polishing of teeth, 7 more days to extraction of tooth, 14 more days to have my "Metal Teeth" up. Really looking forward for my metal teeth but not the freaking filling with polishing and extraction of tooth. :((

#2 - Mentor Work At Boy's Home.

Dear Diary,

Ever since I broke up with my ex-boyfriend whom I dated for 5 years. I realized that my life it's gonna be different. It's not going to have, "Proposal, ROM, Wedding, HDB, Renovating, Babies, PILS". Well, it's kind of shocked that everything that I've planned crushed down. Now, I found my life back! I started have my dreams, Japanese Lesson, Japanese drum and VOLUNTEER WORK!

Yes, many people couldn't understand, why am I wasting my time in volunteering work to help others YET I couldn't really take care of myself. So, none of them actually supported me~ BUT, to cut the story short, I'm now volunteering in Singapore Boy's home as a Mentor. :)

Yesterday it's my first met up with a boy in there. There's suppose to have an officer that was in charge of the boy, parents and the boys. However, this boy I shall name it as Q, didn't have parents to join, it's kind of upset. Q was an 18 years old teenager that it's gonna discharge in two months, really very happy for him. He really motivated me by his words~ He told me, "A person can failed to plan BUT can't plan to fail", "你要犯错，才有现在的成就". I'm not sure what caused him to be inside the home, but the past doesn't matter now. I'm going to ask him next visit, hope he can share more with me on 5th June 2013. I believe everyone needs a chance to change for the better, I'm going to give him that chance. :)

Alright, had a tour around there, the security it's very tight. Thinking that the boy's at their age should be enjoying and playing outside but they're stuck there and lost their freedom, my heart ache. :(

#1 (Braces Journey 1: Consultation)

Dear Diary,

Last Saturday 25th May 2013, I had my first appointment for Braces at "Alfred Cheng Orthodontics Clinic". I've been thinking about braces since many many years ago~ Well, now finally 下定决心 to do braces. Everyone it's very supportive of my decision, really appreciated. :)

Had my first appointment at 930am at ME Hospital for consultations. Dr Alfred Cheng it's really a nice patient guy! Explained to me, duration of braces, different type of braces, extractions of tooth etc. Took some photos and proceed to X-ray. The durations was less than 10mins. THUMBS UP!

Everything it's great there beside the rude and impatient receptionist. Alright, next appointment will be extraction of tooth on the 7 June 2013 and upper braces will be up on 14 June 2013.
